Marla and Michael’s Wedding at Music Box Supper Club

Marla and her bridesmaids got ready at the historic Hyatt Regency at the Old Arcade in downtown Cleveland. This spectacular hotel features stunning architecture and beautiful natural light. I photographed Marla’s dress while hanging from the bridge that connects the left and right sides of the third-floor mezzanine, with the hotel’s massive skylight roof visible above.

Marla and Michael shared their first look on the deck behind Music Box Supper Club in the West Bank of the Flats. Music Box is situated right on the Cuyahoga River and offers great views of the East Bank and parts of the Cleveland skyline. After the first look, we headed to Voinovich Bicentennial Park, located behind the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. We took wedding party photos at the Cleveland Script sign, which sits in front of an incredible skyline view. The park also offers many other great shooting locations, with the skyline to the south and Lake Erie to the north. We then stopped at Heritage Park for a few more photos of Marla and Michael before ending the photo session back at Music Box.

Music Box Supper Club is an amazing venue not only because of its riverside location, but also because it offers a unique rooftop ceremony and reception option. Marla and Michael held their ceremony on the rooftop, once again surrounded by beautiful views of the East Bank and downtown Cleveland. After their ceremony, we took additional couple’s portraits both inside and outside before the reception began.

The reception was a blast, with plenty of dancing and great energy throughout the night. Marla and Michael had a really cool theme of vinyl records for signage and table settings. It was really creative and unique. I have quite a large record collection, so I loved seeing this theme throughout the reception area. Before I left, we stepped back out onto the deck for some evening portraits. Although it wasn’t quite sunset yet, I lowered my exposure to create a darker, moodier look and lit them with a strobe and softbox.

A big shout-out to the talented vendors who helped make the day run so smoothly: A-1 Limo for transportation, KB Confections for the cake, A Bride’s DJ for the entertainment, and Marquee Magic for the statement marquee letters.
