Andria and Jacob’s Wedding at Encore Hotel
I first met Andria and Jacob at our engagement session in Chardon at the end of March. It was chilly, with a consistent light rain. I was hoping they didn’t cancel the shoot because rain can make for some really fun and exciting photos if you go into it with the right mindset. Luckily, Andria and Jacob were totally fine with the rain and getting a little wet. They had a sense of adventure, and I really started to look forward to their wedding.
Fast forward a couple of months, and their wedding was here. It took place at the beautiful Encore Hotel in Berlin, OH, which is right in the heart of Amish Country. Andria and her bridesmaids got ready in an on-site room with plenty of salon chairs, big mirrors, lots of lighting, and a bunch of space. Jacob and the guys got ready in a spacious lounge room with a big leather sectional and a large TV.
Andria and Jacob wanted to do a first look before the ceremony. The Encore Hotel has a pergola right in front of a pond, which made a great spot to capture that moment. The Encore also has a nice path through a wooded area, so we decided to take our group shot there. It was the perfect spot. There was a lot of greenery and nice open shade, which is ideal for taking daytime photos.
The Encore Hotel can accommodate indoor or outdoor weddings. Andria and Jacob chose the indoor option. The ceremony was in The Encore Hall, which is a large event room with huge windows and high ceilings. The style is modern rustic. It’s a really nice space, especially for photography; it’s bright and open.
Andria and Jacob grew up down the street from each other and have been friends since their childhood. Somewhere along the way they knew they were meant to be together. This was a recurring narrative that was brought up during the ceremony and speeches. Everyone had a fun, touching story about Andria and Jacob and their long history together.
The reception was awesome! Everyone was dancing their hearts out. Before I left, I asked Andria and Jacob to step outside for a few evening shots. The sky was vastly different colors depending on which way we were facing, which gave us some cool variety.
