Maranika and Robert’s Tall Oaks Wedding

Marinika and Robert had an absolutely beautiful wedding day at Tall Oaks in Kirtland, Ohio. I arrived early to photograph the wedding party getting ready. It was a small, intimate group including Marinika’s daughter, her best friend, and Robert’s best man.

An Emotional Ceremony

One of the most touching moments happened before the ceremony even began. As Robert walked toward the front, he noticed a photo of his late father placed on the chair beside his mother. It stopped him in his tracks and brought on a wave of emotion. It was an incredibly meaningful tribute that set the tone for a ceremony filled with both laughter and tears.

Portraits at Tall Oaks

After the vows, we moved to the staircase for formal photos with family and friends. Then the three of us stepped outside for portraits of just the couple. Tall Oaks is full of beautiful photo spots; pond views, wooded paths and a covered bridge. We took advantage of several of them before heading into the reception.

A Reception Ready to Celebrate

This crowd was ready to party from the moment the reception began. The dance floor filled instantly, and the toasts and celebratory shots never stopped. One of the funniest moments of the evening came during the bouquet toss. On her first throw, Marinika’s bouquet got stuck in the drapery hanging across the mezzanine. With the help of a tall guest and a chair, it was rescued, and her second toss went off without a problem.

An Amazing Team of Vendors

I had a great time with Marinika and Robert—such a fun couple and the perfect way to kick off the season. The vendor team made the day even better:

Tall Oaks is consistently one of my favorite venues to work at. I actually photographed the very first wedding they ever hosted when they opened! The style is rustic yet modern, with every convenience you could need. The Carriage Inn, located right next to the event complex, features 14 suites and a massive common space complete with a full kitchen, large bar, plenty of seating, a fireplace, table games, and arcade games.

I had a lot of fun documenting Marinika and Robert’s wedding. Here are a some photos from their big day.
