Lacey and Shane’s Wedding at the Schoolhouse and Swan Tavern
There are a ton of unique venues out there, and I’ve shot in a bunch of them, but this was the first time I’ve shot in a converted schoolhouse.
The Schoolhouse is a historic building in Fairview, PA, with a ton of character and charm. In the basement of the Schoolhouse is the Swan Tavern. This is a really cool space with a full bar and a bunch of seating. The walls are stone, the ceiling is open beams and the vibe is very rustic. Because the schoolhouse is on a hill, you can walk out the back of the Swan Tavern to a porch area.
After some getting ready photos in Swan Tavern with Lacey, we jumped into the first look. From there we did some wedding party and family photo, followed by couples photos. The ceremony was officiated by a close friend of Lacey and Shane. It’s always nice to have someone the couple know officiate the ceremony because they have a personal connection to the couple and the words they speak aren’t generic.
For cocktail hour, guests gathered in the Swan Tavern. The reception followed back inside the Schoolhouse. Dancing started early and continued throughout the night. Several family members and friends contributed homemade desserts, which tased amazing btw.
As I often like to do, I took Lacey and Shane outside at night for a few evening shots to end the night.
